Breckenridge and Keystone ski areas pushed their 2018 openings to Wednesday, marking the first time in 10 years the two have opened according to the release.
Both regions were initially scheduled to start Friday, but a mixture of consistent snowmaking and a great deal of pure snow helped move the date. Five feet of snow fell throughout the resorts because mid-October, a few of which were previously in the past week.
Breckenridge will start its own Colorado SuperChair and Rip’s Ride lifts at 9 a.m., but the BreckConnect Gondola that offers access from town to Peak 8 will start at 8 a.m. Keystone will start its own River Run Gondola and Montezuma Express Chairlift that offer access to beginner trails Schoolmarm and Silver Spoon, in addition to a historical period A51 Terrain Park. North Peak will start Friday.
