But as Glock raps over an unfussy but hard beat by Nashville producer BandPlay, he feels right at home.

Key Glock first gained notoriety with his mixtape Glock Season. Since then, he’s signed to Paper Route Empire label through which his cousin operates and released several more albums; additionally he’s actively participated in music video scene.
He’s a rapper with lots of style and substance. His lyrics assert dominance and self-defense while also including cultural references that resonate with his audience. His rap style combines hard-hitting trap with Southern hip-hop for maximum impact.
Key Glock may not have come from wealth, yet has managed to amass an impressive net worth of over $1.5 million despite not starting off wealthy. He owes this success to releasing multiple popular albums as well as stream fees and brand endorsements; further enhancing it through collaborations with other artists as his net worth grows with each new collaboration. Raised in Memphis
After his mother was sent to prison, Key Glock was raised by his grandmother and aunt. He began his career by releasing mixtapes, quickly amassing an audience. Soon enough, Young Dolph–Paper Route Empire founder–saw his work and signed him to his label in 2017. Since then he has released multiple albums, mixtapes, and collaborative LPs with Dolph.
Glock has quickly made his mark on Memphis hip-hop scene thanks to his distinctive style and unfaltering work ethic, quickly rising through Memphis hip-hop scene to become one of its rising stars with national recognition. His latest release Glock Bond features production from Tay Keith, Sosa 808, Teddy Walton and Ramy on the Beat among others – just like Dolph, Glock has an intuitive understanding of making thunderous beats come alive for him – with just minor tweaks, his vocals can take songs in fresh new directions while his expertise lies in navigating difficult lyrical territory.
Signed to Paper Route Empire
Key Glock’s life was left feeling incomplete by the death of Young Dolph, but that did not prevent him from continuing his career as a rapper in Memphis. With hard-hitting beats and catchy wordplay that have quickly made their mark in local circles – not to mention cultivating a dedicated fan base – Key has quickly made himself one of the premier Memphis acts on local stages.
Glock first made his mark on regional radio in 2017 after Young Dolph signed him to Paper Route EMPIRE, eventually producing two albums; Glockoma (2018) and Dum and Dummer 2 (2021).
Key Glock can often be seen wearing Air Jordan “Mocha” 3’s, an Amiri sweater and Seattle Mariners cap when performing with frequent collaborator Bandplay. He notes how many beats from Bandplay have his handwritten in them and rapping over each possibility contained within their folder – ideal for elemental Southern neck-snap music! Glock attributes his eye for production to his grandmother who exposed him to both blues and hip-hop during her childhood in South Memphis; moreover he credits Gucci Mane, Three 6 Mafia and Project Pat as major influences on his work.
Released his first mixtape in 2017
Markeyvius Cathey, better known by his stage name Key Glock, is a Memphis-born rapper known for delivering blunt verses about sexuality, guns and money. First emerging with his mixtape Whole Lotta Errthang in 2006, Key Glock finally began making waves once signed to Young Dolph’s Paper Route Empire label in 2007.
Glock Season, Glock’s debut mixtape, takes an unconventional approach to label head Young Dolph’s winning formula by fusing authentic street cred with charm and wit. Switching up his flow, displaying clever lyricism and selecting incredible beats; Glock Season proves himself one of the South’s premier rappers.
Glock’s second tape, Son of a Gun, is also an impressive showcase of his talents. The project is feature-free and features production from PRE beatsmith Bandplay. Glock credits Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, and Three 6 Mafia as his biggest influences; yet has managed to develop his own distinctive sound.
