Sweet dreams

Every parent knows getting kids to bed is no easy task, so any help in completing the nightly mission is much appreciated. And who better to help than Disney, right? Through Aug. 31, families can add a little of the company’s magic into the bedtime routine with its Sleep Shop Hotline. The toll-free number, 1-877-7-MICKEY, has five special messages from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Goofy to give kids something to look forward to at bedtime. There is a limit of one message per call, so, if you want to hear from a different character, just call back. shopdisney.com/sleep-shop

Clang, clang!

Denver used to have more than 250 miles of track connecting the city with Lakewood, Golden and Boulder. Those days may be long gone, but you can take a ride back in time on Aug. 11. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., hop aboard and ride the Denver and Intermountain Interurban Trolley Car No. 25 during a free open house. The annual event includes complimentary rides on Car No. 25, oral histories from original riders who have contributed to its restoration, a display of transit history and light refreshments. The event is at the Denver Federal Center — Gate 1, Building No. 78 (Kipling and Alameda) in Lakewood. All adults need a government photo ID to enter the Federal Center. lakewood.org/historictransit
