Jim James Announces New Album ‘Uniform Clarity’ & Shares Singles

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James will Soon Issue a Brand New solo Record entitled Uniform Clarity through ATO Records on October 5. The campaign comes as a company to Jim’s published Uniform Distortion LP. James shared two songs in Uniform Clarity.

Jim James recorded acoustic renditions of the 11 songs found on Uniform Distortion as well as two new tracks for Uniform Clarity. The Louisville native tapped Shawn Everett to produce the coming LP. Read an announcement from Jim regarding the record:

“The idea for UNIFORM CLARITY originated from UNIFORM DISTORTION, a record of willful chaos/dirt: literal and figurative distortion of lyrics and sound meant to echo and hopefully shed some light of the fact where we reside. UNIFORM CLARITY is intended to illuminate another side – raw and very real, but quite clear, similar to in the early days of recording where was that the fact because there weren’t any techniques to manipulate records. Working with Shawn Everett, we made a record style recording of those songs- guitar, vocals along with the distance – no FX. A crystal clear example of what a tune starts off as sometimes of the elegance remains – a thought. A seed. A light in the uterus of the universe brought to life down here on the planet. ”

Later today, Jim James will participate in an exclusive YouTube event that will include performances and talks about Uniform Clarity as well as the importance of voting and political action. A livestream with a live performance and also Q&A session is going to be broadcast live in San Francisco via YouTube starting in 5 p.m. PT.
