The Turning Point episode was a smashing success. I could ’t thank everyone who shared the article regarding Sam Verbisky. He really appreciates the recognition and this is exactly what this installment is about. You’ll find further detail concerning the aims of TP from the first write-up.

We return today to share the next installment which features not only an incredible performer, but also a dope person. Meet Malaysian created, Los Angeles based photographer, Natt Lim. She is known by her project title, NATTOGRAFI. Discover how her open minded approach and also setting the bar higher each day, has and continues to open doors with some of the most significant and most respected artists and events from the industry.

The students are currently gearing up for an amazing operation by Far East Movement. The year is 2010 and those guys are at the top of the planet. The line to get into UCLA’s Drake Stadium is long, but the enthusiasm is large. The opening act has produced a good vibe since Natt enters the venue together with her camera. The course of her entire lifetime could just alter, although she isn & rsquo; t supposed to be shooting.

During Lim’s junior year of high school, she decided to get a camera off Craigslist. Her friends from Malaysia were into vogue photography, so she decided to take a stab at it. Originally, Natt started off by taking photos of her friends at school and tried the whole street/fashion/portrait item, which she believed was cool. It wasn’t until after that year when Natt snuck her camera (that the Craigslist one) to a Far East Movement series at UCLA. She realized that occasion photos, shooting mad and gifted musicians audiences, was her own calling.

Following the Far East Movement series at UCLA, Natt instantly shared the photographs on Facebook and tagged them. Far East actually reached out to request permission to post the pictures on their site. She said THIS IS SO COOL, THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO. ” It was rather straightforward as that. After she graduated high school, Natt began reaching out to team promoters to shoot events to get expertise and network with too many men and women in the industry as she could.

She snuck her camera to festivals to start a portfolio of musicians/artists she wouldn’t have been in a position to photograph otherwise. Natt shot at Low End Theory a whole good deal. Awesome crowd, Good vibes , amazing talent, TOUGH light, that lent her plenty of expertise. Finally, she discovered there was an entire EDM planet online. That is when Natt got connected EDM outlets, reserved gigs and started her trip.

Since diving head first into the scene, Lim has worked with the likes of Halsey, HAIM, The Chainsmokers, Hardwell, Party Favor, 4B, GALLANT, Cash Cash, Snakehips, Cedric Gervais, Coachella, FYF, Insomniac Events, HARD Events to name a few. She is also an editor to get Getty Images in which she’s worked many many many tasks. The biggest probably being THE OSCARS, EMMYs, SAG Awards, and GRAMMYs to name a few.

When we spoke with Natt, we asked her was an unforgettable memory from all her travels so far. She said,

“Ooof, tough. It’s Taiwan or China. Both of which have been with all the Malaysian singer, Zee Avi. Zee was the first and only artist thus far that has flown out me to get an excursion. I don’t recall a time I wasn’t Discussing the total Taiwan trip. We’re still laughing about that. Taiwan is BEAUTIFUL. The creative business, the hilarious memories, the FOOD and overall vibe. I’m quite a clean fanatic, so I’m a fan because everything there was so clean and organized. LOL. China was my first multi city tour. It s where I heard so much about touring and being a part of a team as both a photographer and artist assistant. I’m Chinese , so being able to go to the motherland was certainly an adventure. THANKS ZEE. ”

As she reflects on her short but impressive career, Natt thinks about what she would like to do in the next few years. Her urge to see more of South East Asia and capture their civilizations to talk with the entire world is about the top of her list. Especially dying civilizations. She wants to find out more about her nation, Malaysia. Show. Natt would like to develop an artist. Thinks in and vice versa. Combining their dreams and take on the world!

Among those things concerning Natt is ” for lack of a better word, her “ realness. After I had the joy of meeting she was open to speaking and interested in what I needed to say. This first meeting was behind the mainstage in Sunset Music Festival in Tampa, FL in 2016. When I asked her what her recipe for victory is, she mentioned the following:

“Have I actually succeeded? Haha. Having THAT mindset – remain pushing, growing and setting the bar higher on your own compared to other men and women. Never settling. Remaining HUMBLE and remembering to earn time for the people important to you. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. Be open to learning new things and make it a point to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. ”

In conclusion, Nattografi gathered some key takeaways an inspiring photographer could put to action. These are…

“Getting one shot over ten average shots, will probably be greater. Take your time. Read your camera’s manual, and know the mechanics. Be daring. Don’t consider yourself too good for anything else or anybody. Never forget that the hands you shake. Invest in yourself, but also remember that equipment is never essential. Educate yourself. There is always the web, if you neglect ’ t have people to go to for help, it has to give. Ask Should you need help. Clinic on your own, if you neglect ’ t have people to practice on. Be fine. Be fine and work challenging. A whole great deal of people have worked tirelessly to get to where they’re. Don’t expect to be handed anything without even putting in work. ”
