Malaa Takes it Underground with “We Get Crunk”

The hottest Malaa song out on Confession hints at old school U.K. garage.

Everyone’s favourite hidden house DJ/producer has given a track that evokes images of parties. “We Get Crunk” is house music at its dirtyiest. As when the DJ places at stripped-down locales comprising his Illegal tour weren’t enough, Malaa has obtained the chance to flex his underground credentials.

“We Get Crunk” is characterized by a droning, dissonant melody that rings out through most of the arrangement. The pitched-down vocal refrain for the single is titled makes for much more of a space, providing it dance floor appeal that should resonate with much more tenured dance music fans.

Since Malaa hit the scene in late 2015, EDM fans have buzzed with theories about his identity. At first speculated to be a side project between DJ Snake and Tchami, artists such as Mercer, Aazar and Sebastien Bennet have not been mastered out by observant Redditors. Whoever Malaa is, their spotless brand of G home has afforded them an audience all over the world.

“We Get Crunk” by Malaa has arrived by means of Tchami’s Confession imprint. Stream or get the tune across platforms here.
