Jauz Puts A Somber Spin On Marshmello & Bastille’s “Happier”

Jauz transforms”Happier” using a moody new remix.

Marshmello & Bastille’s bittersweet hit alliance”Happier” has obtained a brand new remix out of Jauz. While the optimistic first proceeds to grace the airwaves – and – newly topped Billboard’s Dance Club Songs graph in mid November – Jauz chosen for a different approach entirely.

The multi-genre bass producer (real name Sam Vogel) has explored many different stylistic lands because of late. His latest record, The Wise and The Wicked, watched the producer incorporate a huge palette of sounds from dubstep to prospective bass to breakbeat and much more.

Even though Bastille’s original vocals remain intact, Jauz ventures to some chillstep-focused structure without a lot of reliance on the source substance of Marshmello’s creation. Figuring out singer Dan Smith’s voice and adding sweeping synth soundscapes, Jauz effectively adopts a darkened new tone in sharp contrast to the original track.

At an recent interview with us, Jauz reaffirmed his continuing intent to explore whatever sounds strike personal significance with him in the moment, and to concentrate less on audience and business expectations. Obviously, his ingenious approach to this remix stays true to that thesis.

The Jauz remix of all Marshmello & Bastille’s”Happier” is out now via Marshmello’s Joytime Collective imprint.
