The War On Drugs Debut Tom Petty Cover & Welcome Tim Heidecker In Philadelphia

The War On Drugs closed out their “Drug-Cember To Remember” Operate on Friday at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia. The psychedelic heartland rock act achieved in 3 different sized places over three nights together with proceeds benefitting The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia. Last evening the ring once again welcomed Tim Heidecker and debuting a cover of “Straight Into Darkness. ”

The War On Drugs obtained their nighttime traveling with “Holding On” from their latest studio album A Deeper Understanding. From that point, the group would lean heavily on 2014’s Lost In The Dream delivering seven tracks from the LP such as takes on “Red Eyes,” “Under the Pressure,” “Eyes to the Wind” along with “An Ocean Between the Waves. ” Midway through their 15-song collection, the sextet welcomed Heidecker for the second time in 3 shows. On Thursday, the Tim & Eric star additional harmonica to “Arms Like A Boulder. ” Last evening that the comic sang lead on “Hot Piss,” a song from his group The Yellow River Boys, who murdered his debut record Urinal St. Station before year.

Heidecker then strapped on an acoustic guitar as The War On Drugs have been joined by Frances Quinlan of Hop Along along with Paul Vile who’s famous around Philly as Jelloman. The augmented outfit offered up their debut shoot on “Straight Into Darkness” from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ 1982 release Long After Dark with Quinlan onto tambourine and Vile on harmonica.
