Cañon City named as a finalist to be in Hulu TV show

Cañon City received exciting news on Tuesday morning that it was one of six finalists to be featured in streaming service Hulu’s show “Small Business Revolution,” according to the show’s creators.

If selected, the town outside of Colorado Springs will host “celebrity experts” to help improve small businesses struggling to grow. The final town will be chosen by online voting with poles open for the next six days. Cañon City is competing against Camas, Washington, Corsicana, Texas, Durant, Oklahoma, Searcy, Arkansas and Washington, North Carolina in their bid to be on the show.

The show is in its fourth season and aims to “revitalize” towns through revamping their small businesses. In Cañon City, many have struggled to maintain steady income during the seasons with low tourism. Many people flock to Cañon City for outdoor adventure on the Arkansas River, mountain biking trails and other activities, according to Cañon City’s town profile on “Small Business Revolution’s” website.
