Tedeschi Trucks Band Shut a two-night Streak at Colorado’s Famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Saturday night to their 2019 Wheels of Soul Tour. TTB would float a cover of The Band’s & “Don’t Do It& & rdquo; for the first time since New Year’s Eve 2011 and welcomed members of opening functions Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope.
“Don’t Do It& & rdquo; kicked off the show and also showcased Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr and Richard Turner. “Do I Look Worried” followed closely ahead of a cover of The Beatles’ & & ldquo;Within In You Without You. ” & & ldquo;Just As Strange& & rdquo; and “I’m Gonna Be There& & rdquo; came next before The Derek And The Dominos cover “Keep On Growing. ”
TTB then conducted through a slew of covers such as Sleepy John Estes’ & & ldquo;Leavin’ Trunk,” “Volunteered Slavery” by Rashaan Roland Kirk, Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” using Shovels & Rope and “Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’& & rdquo; from The Allman Brothers Band. “Laugh About It& & rdquo; came next followed by 2 covers in Joe Tex’s & “Show Me” & Charles Segar’s “Key To The Highway” using Starr once more sitting-in.
TTB lasted with “Bound For Glory” forward of “The Storm” that led into set nearer “Whipping Post” from The Allman Brothers. The band would encore using Sly & The Family Stone’s “Sing a Simple Song / I Want to Take You Higher” about which they welcomed Shovels & Rope and associates of Blackberry Smoke.
