The guitarist has been honored in a variety of ways over the decades such as eight Grammy wins, induction into the Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame in 2008 and into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2005. Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page are among those who count Buddy Guy as a consequence.

Guy continues to perform through the current, however like the remainder of music has had to take a break throughout the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. On August 28, 2013, Buddy played the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado for a concert that was filmed and aired AXS-TV. The guitarist headlined the day with a 12-song set that comprised a mix of originals and traditional blues and rock covers. He was joined by his own protégé, child Quinn Sullivan for a series of four covers to shut out the show beginning with Cream’s “Strange Brew” and finish with Isaac Hayes’ “Do Your Thing. ”
