Only 13 days following the release of Candy II [Beat Tape], Louis The Child are back with a new single and accompanying visual, yet crafted together with alt-pop band, COIN.
“Self Care” occurs as a bundle of quick, catchy vocals, colorful synths, and melodic, upbeat grooves complimented by a fervent audio movie that stars not just the duo but also COIN’s lead vocalist, Chase Lawrence. The feel-good tune promotes the custom of self indulgent and supports the notion it is acceptable for individuals to take care of their own needs rather than forfeit personal health to delight others.
Louis The Child said of the track,
“When COIN sent us the demonstration for ‘Self-Care,’ we loved it. It had a really infectious, amazing vibe and a gorgeous message. We were instantly stoked to include our drums, synths, instruments, and arrangement ideas and turn the tune into a jam! We’re eager that you hear it. Turn this up and dance! ”
COIN noted,
“This year, we tried to quit looking left and right before crossing the road (metaphorically). Trust yourself–others won’t until you do. Eliminate fear and judgment this calendar year, and possibly permanently find inner light and want to beam out to the entire world. Free the mind. Do it for yourself. The chorus outspoken is a iPhone voice memo backstage at a festival in Memphis–mindlessly free. We felt that this was perfectly fitting for COIN’s first-ever collaboration. ”
“Self Care” is out today via Interscope Records. View the music video under.
