Since the beginning of June, Levitt Pavilion has hosted nearly 40 concerts at their amphitheater. Even the free concert show has featured a variety of emerging musical acts – such as lots of neighborhood Denver talent. Since the summer season comes to a close, there are only a few displays left and arguably some of their very best. With six displays abandoned, you’ll want to use this guide to get familiar with some of the songs Levitt Pavilion’s no completely free concert series has made to offer you.

Kitten + The Midnight Club

When: September 1, 6-10 p.m. 

Where: Levitt Pavilion Denver, 1380 W Florida Ave., Denver

The Lowdown: Los Angeles indie rock behave Kitten, led by member Chloe Chaidez, will combine Denver alt-rock set The Midnight Club at Levitt Pavilion. The vibe of Kitten will merge together with the groovy and retro sounds of the Midnight Club. The Midnight Club, began in 2015, will deliver their variation of stone to the eager Denver crowd who has encouraged them. With food trucks current at each free series, concertgoers are going to have the chance to try cuisine from neighborhood Colorado trucks LaRou Bayou and Wanderlust Market.

The Verve Pipe + The Hollow + CITRA

When: September 8, 6-10 p.m.

Where: Levitt Pavilion

The Lowdown: The Verve Pipe, The Hollow and CITRA each will provide their own personal sounds to show the Levitt Pavilion crowd some of the alternative rock coming from Denver. Bands The Hollow and CITRA will spark Denver into a frenzy ahead of Michigan-based The Verve Pipe requires the stage. Tilford’s Wood Fired Pizza and Ragbag Bistro will join in on the activity offering pizza and flavors of Europe, Asia, and South America.

The Colorado Symphony

When: September 9, 4 – 8 Prizes

Where: Levitt Pavilion  

The Lowdown: In their debut look at Levitt Pavilion, the famous Colorado Symphony will observe the anniversary of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein. The symphony brass and percussion sections will play a number of Bernstein’s most work under the direction of conductor Brian Buerkle. The performance will include a 20-minute intermission, which means you’ll have tons of time to test great food from any of the regional vendors such as Barbed Wire Reef, Farm to Truck, LaRue Bayou, and Tilford’s Wood Fired Pizza.

Authority Zero + In The Whale + No Bueno!

When: September 22, 6-10 p.m.

Where: Levitt Pavilion

The Lowdown: Both In The Whale and No Bueno! Launched in Denver and will bring punk and hefty rock to the amphitheater. Arizona group Authority Zero is famous for their unique blend of punk rock and reggae that they’ve been feeding crowds with since 1994. The group is also famous for their work with The Blasting Room Studio, located in Fort Collins, recording both singles and complete records. Peaceful Creations will be the only addition to this show’s food side, providing enthusiasts a sweeter option to enjoy throughout the performances.

Lao Tizer Quartet + Space Orphan

When: September 23, 4-8 p.m.

Where: Levitt Pavilion 

The Lowdown: The second-to-last series of Levitt Pavilion’s no free concert series will include a ton of Colorado talent. Beginning with Space Orphan, a Denver old-school group focusing their efforts on funky tracks have described themselves as able to, “hit you in your soul and keep you dancing at precisely exactly the same moment. ” They will be followed by the Lao Tizer Quartet, made by Boulder indigenous Lao Tizer. Will fulfill the crowd with sounds of classic jazz. This series is just one of the more unorthodox mixtures that music lovers will watch in Levitt this summer before heading into the finished show.

Carbon Leaf 25th Anniversary Tour

When: September 28, 6-10 p.m.

Where: Levitt Pavilion 

The Lowdown: Richmond, Virginia indie-folk group Carbon Leaf isn’t a stranger into the Denver area. They’ve completed around the Colorado area, such as Denver’s famous Bluebird Theater. Merging elements of rock, folk and country, Carbon Leaf will march together their 25th Anniversary Tour at Levitt  Pavilion. Since they started making music at the early 1990s, Carbon Leaf has witnessed a variety of musicians filter throughout their own group. The group still contains founding members Barry Privett (vocals, guitar), Terry Clark (guitar) and Carter Gravatt (guitar, violin, impacts ) and newer buddies Jason Neal (drums) and Jon Markel (bass). The final show of Levitt Pavilion’s is an anniversary spectacle using Carbon Leaf being the only performance of this evening.

Levitt Pavilion’s no free concert series has been an incredible journey over the duration of summertime 2018. With so many fantastic performers from all over the country, including many from the Denver area, it is hard to trust the shows are free. Although the events are free to the public, you’ll still need a ticket for admission to the displays.
