On Saturday the 33rd annual Farm Aid music festival and Advantage was held at the Xfinity Theatre at Hartford. The full-day occasion that combines activism and music was headlined by Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young endorsed by Promise Of The Real and Dave Matthews, who teamed with his musical partner Tim Reynolds. The bill was rounded out by appearances by Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Kacey Musgraves, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Lukas Nelson and Particle Kid.

Throughout their early day slot Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats decked out a pair of guests to assist them out on a tune from The Band to close out their collection. As the rock and soul action had been putting the finishing touches “S.O.B.” the group ’s titular leader encouraged out Price and Lukas Nelson as they transitioned into their regular cover “The Shape I’m In. ” Yesterday’s take over the Stage Fright track showcased Rateliff, Price and Nelson all singing a verse before they worked their way back into the end of “S.O.B.”
