deadmau5 Issues Apology for Recent Behavior, Says He’s “Going Off The Radar”

“I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m in need of professional help,” wrote deadmau5.

It’s hard for anybody to argue that lines have been crossed when his banter walks back twice in a week. The Canadian manufacturer (whose actual name is Joel Zimmerman) came under fire for 2 separate incidents this week , and has generated a public apology which hints at greater underlying issues.

Last week,” Zimmerman tweeted that”women don’t posses [sic] penises,” a comment that many considered transphobic. It came to light that during a gaming live stream he referred to Slushii’s songs as”autistic shit,” likely without understanding that the artist is about the spectrum.

He addressed both pas by making the announcement last night:

Zimmerman’s willingness to open up about his personal issues came at a moment. Yesterday was World Mental Health Day, an awareness and advocacy festival first celebrated in 1992 as an initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health.

It was seen whether deadmau5′ plan of”moving from the radar” will involve any societal networking account deactivations or other major changes to his internet presence.
