Red Rocks 2019 Summer Concert Season Predictions

Since it’s the beginning of the year, we are gearing up for a ton of impending music statements — that the most thrilling being Red Rock’s summer concert series. Red Rocks because venue is notable, and there are not many pastimes as highly appreciated by Coloradans and visitors alike as the concert season in full swing. Even though a few shows from the likes of The 1975 and also Lord Huron have already been announced — as well as those who return to the acclaimed venue yearly including Lotus and the Avett Brothers –there’s still a great deal of ground to cover before the calendar has been filled up. We have compiled a listing of a few of the frontrunners, who’ll hopefully be providing the soundtrack to the summer.

*Please note, this listing isn’t exhaustive, and also for the way of speculation, that the functions who return to the venue almost yearly  (STS9, GRiZ, Big Gigantic, etc.) have not been included.

First Time Hopefuls
Robyn

Sweden’s reigning pop queen is long overdue for a performance slot at Red Rocks. Originally slated to headline the venue together with Röyksopp at 2014, the plans fell through due to logistical and manufacturing complications mere weeks prior to the series ’so far. On the insides of her very first full-length solo effort in almost eight decades, hope has been renewed. With a smattering of sold-out U.S. tour dates at the first half of this summer and year openings in their program, Robyn is surely a contender for summit Red Rocks programming forthcoming summer. And who doesn’t enjoy a good dance party in the amphitheater?

Solange

Solange is no more dwelling in the joys of her sister Beyoncé. Coming into her own 2016’s A Seat At The Table, Solange became a musical auteur whose inventive output became a fully realized vision of modern R&B. In 2019, she’therefore set to continue down the path she’s chased for herself, with a new album and reside in tow. While her previous excursion, eponymously named after the album, was set in museums and festivals, there’s no telling where the new performances will wind up, but rsquo;s to hoping its at Red Rocks.

Here’therefore what, Anderson .Paak already has an upcoming performance at the Fillmore Auditorium in February. But, if you’re like most folks, you waited in the queue for tickets that had sold out. The multi-genre crooner is just one of the trendiest upstarts of now, one that will sell out, also has offered out larger venues.

A$AP Rocky

Though A$AP Rocky’s newest album Testing has been outside for a while today and that he ’s staked a ton of stateside dates in January, the rapper has yet to operate via Denver at the promotion of their job. While perhaps not a determining factor in and of itself, A$AP Rocky has not missed Denver on an album cycle in recent memory, also, from the looks of his already announced tour dates, he will be traveling late to the year.

For the first time in four successive decades, ODESZA will not be returning to Red Rocks. The duo before this season declared that they will not be heading back into the venue, so as to put on their first festival Sundara. The omission of ODESZA comes as an upset to the many who have made it their yearly tradition to observe the start of summer with this group. Similarly, many understand Red Rocks to be of the team ’s favorite areas to play — debuting new paths and carrying their shows at the following level, the omission is especially upsetting.

Whatever ends up happening over these next few weeks, Red Rocks is sure to have several surprises in store. Since the names begin to roll out in larger doses, along with the anticipation mounts, be certain to check in and determine which forecasts were about the money and which ones had been off the mark.
