Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams was accused of improper behavior by numerous female musicians that he previously worked with. The New York Times printed a report in which the paper interviewed seven girls and more than a dozen associates who “explained a pattern of manipulative behavior in which Adams dangled career opportunities while concurrently pursuing female artists for gender. ”

“Music has been a point of management for him,” Ryan’s ex-wife Mandy Moore told the Times. She claims he treated her badly and told her, “You’re a real musician, since you don’t play an instrument. ’” Moore additionally accused Adams of dissuading her by working together with other managers or agents so that he’d be the primary participant in mapping out her livelihood.

Phoebe Bridgers talked with the Times about her experience working with Adams.
