The LA-based DJ taps trap duo GTA for a hard-hitting party track in anticipation of his debut album, Layers.
Party Favor, real name Dylan Ragland, teamed up with the trap duo GTA for an expected yet welcome single, “Work It Out.” This track is the latest release from Ragland’s debut studio album Layers, set for an April release date.
The trap and hip-hop collaboration in “Work It Out” brings classic Party Favor sounds: energetic, heavy bass that’s sure to dominate any party setting.
While just as strong as this recent release, “Reach For Me,” Ragland’s first taste of Layers couldn’t be more different. His softer but signature bass offer a futuristic sound — a sure indicator Layers will reflect the DJ’s genre-transcending abilities.
Not only will Layers be the L.A. producer’s first album, it will also debut on his new record label, Area 25. Ragland previously released music under Mad Decent, including his Party and Destroy EP, on which he collaborated with heavyweights like Gucci Mane and Rich The Kid.
As its name suggests, Ragland’s upcoming album will mark a deeply personal work for the DJ. The album’s artwork was hand-drawn by the tattoo artists that inked Ragland. This imagery represents the “layers” of the producer’s life — the mountains of Utah, the number 25, and the Hollywood sign, amongst other things.
