Texas-bred trio, WAVEDASH, have illustrated they are a bass-breathing force to be reckoned with thanks to the release of their four-track EP, Opening Ceremony.
After monstrous collaborations with both NGHTMRE and SLANDER, they have fittingly released the EP on the aforementioned artists’ jointly owned label, Gud Vibrations. The compilation falls right in the sweet spot of grimy bass and catchy melodies. Title track, “Opening Ceremony” of the EP was the first song ever released on the label.
The final release of the EP, “The Same,” is now available, and it rounds out the EP with smooth, captivating vocals and soothing sonic moments before a hard-hitting drop. The track adds melodic relief and a new dynamic to the rest of the EP, which is characterized by performance-ready dubstep displays.
The trio spoke to Dancing Astronaut about Opening Ceremony and the final track release, “The Same.”
We’re so excited that ‘The Same’ is finally out as the last track on our EP, Opening Ceremony, on Gud Vibrations. The outro is particularly special as it reflects where we want our sound to go. The aesthetic for Opening Ceremony has been based on a future where bike racing is seen as a premiere event, like the Olympics.
