Show You Should Know – Minnesota Rockers Hippo Campus and Now, Now to Play the Ogden

Now, now, don’Can one fret — The Ogden will exhibit a piece of Minnesota’s rock scene this Saturday. Headliner Hippo Campus has been supposed to perform with support from fellow Minnesotan indie folk-pop band Now, Now.

Founded in 2013, Hippo Campus maintained intentions in their approach. “We had been at high school and the main thought was, ‘Let’therefore start a ring and create our friends dance & & rdquo; Sutton recalls. “There was no context for what we do –it was just creative happiness that is complete. ” Over the past five years, however, that context has changed. The world has become something bleak and unsteady, and agreeing with emotional health issues became increasingly more critical. Hippo Campus has struck a balance between reverb-laden guitars with synths that were jagged and lively. The outcome? A sunnyindie rock sound that is loaded with depth and versatility. While their sound harkens to sunnier times, the lyrics in their sophomore album Bambi navigate darker topics. Finally, Bambi gives rise to a choice of songs that float into darker terrain however unfold using a lively yet delicate beauty which makes the most painful moments feel glorious.
