During a Player Unknown Battlegrounds game, a homophobic slur was employed by deadmau5.

When he is off media, deadmau5 can’t seem to keep his foot from his mouth. During a public Twitch live stream of a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) group game, the Canadian DJ/producer employed language which some have deemed homophobic.

In a clip in the live stream on Twitch user SmaceTRON’s station, deadmau5 (actual name Joel Zimmerman) appears to be defeated over a different player”stream sniping” – meaning that they watched his screen to find his place and relay it to their team member. “Is that some fucking cock-sucking stream sniper f**,” he says through his outburst.

Zimmerman’s longstanding penchant for humor has taken an twist as of late. In October of the year that he left opinions considered transphobic with a few, only to predict a Slushii song “autistic shit” a matter of days after. He subsequently announced a Twitter hiatus, and his account is now modulated by a member of the team.

Even a spokesperson representing deadmau5 hasn’t reacted to EDM.com’s request for comment at the time of writing.
