I’ve worked at the scene for quite a while with Ministry of Sound so desired a bit of a fresh look. ”

What could be among the most intriguing things about his Formula E residency is the way he plays, which can be diverse and unconventional when compared with this club and festival circuit many digital producers perform within.

EJ mentions, “I play to the race itself when the cars are on course, creating the atmosphere to the grand stand audiences. ” He continues, “Then there’s the gambling zone that’s quite cool, creating the audio background to fans and the drivers racing each other around the computer game. Finally, there are my stage performances. All of it depends upon what country you are playing in with the style you proceed with. ”

EJ has recently released a 19 piece soundtrack that’s set to take center stage at the international road racing tournament . He’s published it upon Ashley Wallbridge along with Gareth Emery‘s Garuda, along with also the two of Garuda’s heritage artists have tracks included within the compilation.

While the Formula E Success has got a substantial quantity of this DJ’s time, it has not stopped him from chasing his DJ and production livelihood in the more traditional sense. Why do you decide to produce/perform anonymously and concealed?
Initially, I needed to make a DJ persona that could grow with the Formula E brand when I first began working together, and attract a new audience to the championship during my performances and music. It ended up being a little pleasure to become anonymous. I’ve worked at the scene for quite a while with Ministry of Sound so desired a bit of a fresh look. It’s ’s maybe not so anonymous now as I have been performing without the strain over a few occasions and have also been in the media without it. The secret is out!

Could you tell us additional information such as, where are you from? What got you into music production and what inspired you to begin producing trance music specifically?
I’m out of London and still live here, but travel quite a lot. I love London. It will always be my home. I labored for Ministry of Sound for 10 years prior to working with Formula E, also have to play at some amazing places around the world. Before that I labored in Ibiza. It had been Ibiza that really made me to music and DJing, nevertheless before living there, I had been massively into the trance scene that is first. Although I have moved about genres I have still loved the power of trance. Though, I am not trance. I perform a whole lot of innovative house and even though my most recent productions have all be tagged trance, they sort of sit in the centre a bit. I like to have the ability to move around between the genres. You will notice far more of my aspect in 2019.

Now you ’re the DJ for Formula E, which will be an unconventional yet rather higher profile gig. What’s it like performing versus performing in a club environment, in this environment? Do you have a taste?
Yeah of course it is different. I have a functions at Formula E when it comes to performances. I play to the race itself when the cars are creating the atmosphere to the grand stand audiences. Then there’s the gambling zone that’s quite cool, creating the audio background to fans and the drivers racing each other around the computer game. Finally, there are my stage performances. Everything depends upon what country you are playing in with. Some are far more commercial than others. With all of this you have to remember that essentially people are there for your racing not only the songs, however I just played Santiago and the crowd was amazing, actually coming to watch me rather than simply the racing. It appears that this might be changing, although festivals and clubs such as now will always have the dance music crowd. A fucking club that is excellent is loved by me !

Are you a fan of a particular Formula E team or driver?
Am I permitted to become biased? I’m always requested to be neutral, but I get along really well with Sam Bird out of Virgin, Mitch Evans in Jaguar, along with Antonio Felix da Costa in BMW. They are good lads, and the teams are fairly cool. Sam’s on peak of the table right now though so allow ’s go with him!

Musically, what are some goals you currently have for yourself?
I really need to flaunt my manner of songs and find it out there on the masses. It’s fantastic playing at Formula E, however I need to be about the festival stages like Tomorrowland and Ultra. Headlining among them would be fucking unreal! Also would love to obtain a number one. All my releases have gone top 20 about the Beatport Trance graph, however wouldn’t it be cool if audio swung back round again, and my songs was at the main graphs. That would be wicked! A few collabs with some singers that are ill would be great as well.

What do we expect from you?
Lots more songs. I have a set out on February known as Formula E — The Soundtrack that’s selection of tracks that you would expect to hear me perform at an Formula E race. We’ve Got a Garuda night at Ministry of Sound in London on 1st March in which I’ll be enjoying with Gareth Emery, Ashley Wallbridge, Kolonie along with Nash. I have an artist album out some time prior to the year’s end, based when its finished as I am on tour Formula E until July heading all over the globe to some great cities.
