For well more than a decade, Housemeister has acted as an influential tastemaker and manufacturer from the more underground spheres of house, electro, and techno. To American audiences, the German performer is likely best known for his many releases on Boysnoize Records, the famous imprint by his compatriot Alex Ridha. However, Housemeister’s résumé spans a lot more widely than BNR itself; in addition to helming his own All You Can Beat (AYCB) label, the performer has created a remarkable presence within an eclectic smattering of imprints and festivals, staying ever-prolific during his career. In 2018 alone, since he gears up for a 2019 album launch, Housemeister has released three EPs.

On November 16, the hardworking house hyper-purveyor will launch his newest output, “Soo Good,” a two-track endeavor including his eponymous single along with a remix by Kompakt veteran T. Rauschmiere. Featuring an amalgam of haunting top-line elements, detuned synthesis, perennially-driving percussion, along with soulful vocal samples, “Soo Good” apparently — and effortlessly — pulls from a huge range of house sub-categorizations, reaffirming the domination of the genre that the artist’s moniker professes. On this offering, Housemeister functions as the inaugural launch in the newly-formed Unreel, a Berlin-based, exclusively digital imprint. Undoubtedly, “Soo Good” sets a precedent for what’s to come in Unreel in and beyond.
